Sneeky Jewish diamond magnate MauriceTempelsman offside to Jewess Jackie Kennedy to the end
Maurice Tempelsman was born to a Yiddish-speaking, Orthodox Jewish family in Antwerp’s Jewish community. In 1940 he and his family emigrated to the United States, where he began working for his father, a diamond broker, at age 16.

Tempelsman was a longtime companion and later lover of the Jewess Jackie Kennedy.The two first met in 1980, a few years after the death of Jackie’s second husband Aristotle Onassis. In 1982, Tempelsman moved into Onassis’s Fifth Avenue penthouse apartment in New York City; and he was given the job of handling Jackie’s finances, quadrupling the $26 million secured from her late husband’s estate.
The couple often walked together through Central Park, especially just prior to Jackie’s death from Non-Hodgkin lymphoma.

Tempelsman is currently chairman of the board of directors of Lazare Kaplan International Inc., the largest diamond company in the United States, noted for its “ideal cut” diamonds sold worldwide under the brand name, Lazare Diamonds.
He’s also a general partner of Leon Tempelsman & Son, an investment company specializing in real estate and venture capital.

Tempelsman has played a key role in Southern Africa in negotiations between hostile governments and companies involved in diamond exploration. He advised Mobutu Sese Seko, former dictator of Zaire, and assisted him in his trade with De Beers, when he was a CIA operative. Tempelsman holds the title of honorary consul general for Zaire, now the Democratic Republic of Congo, at the DRC’s consular offices in New York City. Tempelsman has played a key role in diamond trafficking in the DRC, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, and Sierra Leone.
